The original “simpecado” (a badge worn by the members of the traditional Spanish brotherhoods during the Eastern) of the Brotherhood of the Virgin Rocío de Córdoba was commissioned by the bullfighter Antonio Cañero for the females members or adoratrices. The central medal of the “simpecado” budge consists of a canvas painted by Julio Romero de Torres. The cork consists of an oval oil tempered canvas depicting the famous Andalusian virgin Nuestra Señora del Rocío holding a child exactly reproducing the sculpture of the virgin in the Andalusian town of Ayamonte. The “simpecado” is a budge bearing the Latin slogan Sine Labe Concepta, or Conceived Without Sin, representing the Immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary.
